# Settlement Verification

Settlement verification is one of the most important but underappreciated parts of the zkCross stack.

In fragmented multi-chain systems, sending a transaction is not the same thing as achieving a valid outcome. State must still be verified afterwards.

zkCross checks expected versus actual outcomes, reconciles balances and positions, validates fee behaviour and confirms accounting consistency. If the results fall outside tolerance, the system does not continue as if nothing happened.

This makes the infrastructure much more suitable for serious capital movement and for any downstream product that needs explainable behaviour.
